Hi!

So, here I am again with a

’s monthly theme challenge!
This time we had to pick a song and design something inspired by it

I chose the song “On Monday” by Superbus. Here’s the song: [link] and the lyrics: [link]

This song is about the nostalgia of teenage hood; the first part is the good ol’days where laughter was present, the second part is the present day where she misses those good days, with tears. I love this song, is very sweet and a beautiful ballad.

The design: it took quite long to get inspired to design anything... until this song came along on my mp3 (yeah... got a lot of them

) and I thought it would be perfect!
I didn’t get inspired by a specific part of the lyrics, it was the whole spirit of this song that inspired me. So...
As I listened to the song (this time very carefully) I began picturing the scene... A woman goes back to her old neighbourhood and as she gets to her old street she begins remembering those good ol’days

For the first part of the song (the happy part) I designed colourful and young clothing and accessories: The knit dress, the tights, the gloves, the beret hat and more importantly, the little brown bag and the scarf. The scarf and the bag are the literal representation of the lyrics.

For the second part I decided to go for something more woman like, more of a grown up woman: the black boots and the grey jacket. I decided to make them greyscale-like to contrast with the happy memories (grey = sadness; most of the time lol)

I went for a windy scene, because it fit what I was picturing. It gives the whole design a more melancholic and nostalgic mood.
